Just hear this one on the main BBC Radio Two News.

Manchester - Bredbury.

Arrest follows hit-and-run death
An 11-year-old boy has died after being involved in a hit-and-run collision with a van in Greater Manchester.
The boy - from Bredbury in Stockport - was riding his BMX bike on Friday when the accident happened on Sandiway just before 1900 BST.

He was taken to hospital with multiple injuries but died a short time later.

The van drove off but police say a 35-year-old Bredbury man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after handing himself in on Saturday.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

The van is described as blue, small or medium sized, and had a roof rack

Personally - I think a hit und runner should be done for manslaughter. If he collide und wait for police und help the inquiry und found to be genuine accidental tragedy - or was found to warrant some charge for a court to decide - then different.

I do not know if this road was closed for hours though.

It's always the way. Or they run off home and try the old one of having a drink when they get home to "calm down"

I hear he got charged with manslaughter - and not causing death by dangerous driving - on BBC Radio R2 news late yesterday evening.

Heart goes out to the little boy's family all the same.
