Paul

I know we don't always see eye to eye on the subjects we discuss here, but seriously, as I log off for the day, good luck for tomorrow at the RAF club.

I wouldn't like to try to second guess what the ruling would be (secretly, I hope the right to silence is upheld, but I worry what the government reaction will be to that), I'll be listening to the news in the morning with some anticipation.

Andy

Paul was supposed to be there for a press conference - don't know if that happened now, with "other events" in the Piccadilly area probably taking precedence.

The ECHR ruling was a one line item on radio 4 news this morning - just said "lost their appeal", no further comment or reasoning given.

Bit of a bad show.

I noticed today that the BBC news was "doing it's bit" for the peddling of disinformation to the masses ...........

I didn't see any report, but there was today an almost constant "tickertape" statement at the bottom of the screen, that an appeal in the ECHR against......."speed cameras" had been lost ......

Mmmmh!............. Really?

Just to tie up loose ends of this thread, The press conference went ahead, there were 2 tv crews there (bbc +1), there were about 20 other newspaper bods. there were mobile phone interviews and it recieved 105 google news hits. Not bad seeing that thee was a bomb 1000m away!

It was strange that I could drive into london and not see a single message on those motorway message boards about an incident in central london that happened 5 hours previous! All I knew was that the tube train was not stopping at Piccidily. so I got off ay Hyde Park Corner which turned out to be nearer.

A number of people have emailed me to suggest that the bomb in Haymarket was a fake intended to distract attention from the press conference in Piccadilly.

Personally I cannot imagine all the individual police officers involved going along with that. (But how many of them would need to know?)

And it would seem to assume that the UK authorities were NOT in the know about the case result - I don't believe that either.

So, I guess it's just an amazing coincidence.

Too amazing for me I’m afraid, and based on previous performance, I wonder what new law they plan on bringing in, once again on the back of terrorism. Killed two birds with one stone? I just don’t trust them any more.
