We are currnetly desparate for HIAB Drivers and Class 1 Drivers. If Drivers are interested in HIAB work but have not done the course we are willing to train them.

Please contact if interested

No not agency or even in that line of work. Just curious at the moment as I may be looking to change direction from what I'm currently doing once the stupid buggers in the MOD have sold me off to the highest bidder :(
Have you tried putting the word around ABRO Donnington in Telford, there may be someone intersted there.

That is only £2 per hour more than what a supermarket shelf stacker earns

Class one £8 an hour???

Dont make me laugh, if you pay peanuts you will get monkeys.

It is a highly skilled and responsible job being a class one driver, and it is being belittled by this offer.
Honestly, do you think you will get anyone of decent caliber to work for that,
makes me sick.

Scanny/Nos 42 - son in law - got HGV 1plus crane op in army at 18, now some years on found it more lucrative to take fork lift job with agency --

question is why ---perhaps employers offering peanuts to highly qualified blokes is reason ( to my mind anyone with HGV1 is highly qualified )

It`s because young lads pass their test and will drive a bigun for nowt.
Lets face it, its effin hard,

but,

its alright being out there "in charge" of the road around you with a few tonne of groaning steel and a few hundred horses.
That is a big booster as a young-ish jizz filled adult, whoosh mrs look at my mota.

But with the advent of driver cpc etc, it will weed out the "shouldn`t really be doing that" brigade eventually.

Jeez, i feel a right rant now, but wont.

Night all

i have little faith in the drivers cpc myself. i am all for raising standards as my personal standards are high but that is down to attitude. i want to be good at my job so i put the effort in and it pays off with having a good reputation. i fail to see how the drivers cpc will change attitudes though. how will it change someones attitude from a chore to actually being constructive?

Did mention it to my SIL - £8 AN HOUR, FOR A 35 HOUR WEEK - last i saw of him was off to toilet, laughing. He's HGV1, army trained crane op (tickets close to expiry ) ,gets more as a fork lift driver .Now why ??
