You will be branded a threat to society by going over a speed limit where it is safe to do so, and suffer the consequences of your actions in a way criminals do not, more so than someone who is a real threat to our society.

There are three ways this happens.

First, the poster posts "Spam deleted". Rule that one out.

Second, the poster posts something with excess "key words" that causes it by a script... possibly...

Third... One of us Safespeed cops come along and decide it is spam - and does it, so that, when he gets more time, he can go in and expunge the perpetrator - and the post - completely.

If he deleted the post straight away, he'd lose identity of the perpetrator.

Deleting perpetrators requires more hoops than I have time for right now - but I'll clean up properly later . I've bagged the poo, tonight I'll incinerate it - and the dog that laid it ;-)

Moderators can edit and delete posts, but can't delete users - therefore it makes sense to remove the content of the post and leave it there for an admin to delete and ban the user.

I'll try to make time to look at this over the next few days as well.

Edit: I've deleted this particular one now.
