it doesnt matter on the time of day, providing there is daylight, there is congestion. why? 2 reasons from my observations.
1. they built a bypass with a roundabout. they appear to be building another roundabout a few hundred yards further on now too. defeats the purpose if you ask me.

2. between the A1 and M8, you are guaranteed to come up behind a minimum of 3 slow (50 or under) vehicles travelling separately and i am not talking about restricted vehicles.

why build a bypass to free up the traffic then create congestion on it by interrupting it?
why do slow drivers feel the need to dilly dally along on what is designed to be a free flowing road?

When will these ex grad town planners who are of course: "a fountain of ALL knowledge" realise that a Friggin' BYPASS.....is a BYPASS.....is a BYPASS! an' fech all else!...

You DON'T decide to build an industrial estate on a BYPASS!!!!!!!!!!......It's a BYPASS you friggin' Uni Moron!..

A BYPASS HAS NO JUNCTIONS!..................

It serves the Town by seperating THROUGH traffic from LOCAL traffic!...

OK, I admit it, Maybe I'm "simple"................but I'm cute with it!

But who paid for the bypass? ..... not us... (you road tax was spent on a quango or a war) The builder who built the bypass was forced to under the planning conditions to get permission for his industrial estate.

I have seen planning permission for one house refused because it did not contribute to local green spaces and non car transport (cycle lanes).

Then there is a bung for "social housing" in Dorset a bung for wardens on the Dorset heath land. and on commercial property it is road infustructure.

One thing any one who is paying for a bit of bypass wants is thier own junction. and traffic lights to get out onto thier bypass.

junctions are all well and good but again, not by interrupting the bypass. there are plenty of junctions on the edinburgh bypass and they are all accessed via sliproads bar 1. guess where all the congestionis? even the roadworks beyond the roundabout doesnt create any problems. 2 lanes, 40MPH, average speed scameras, stop start traffic which is created solely by the roundabout

Ah yes! a PFI!............... That which will eventually cost the ratepayer at least 50 times the build price whilst their hard earned Tax imoney is spent upholding the Feudal system which suppresses them.......

Ever hear of "social planning" OR even "Planning for regional/social benefit without private bribery and/or corruption?".....................
