Is Callaghan going to get all "upity" with the CC now and ban him from posting
Well that's what he did to us when we had the audacity to point out he was failing miserably!
Those were the days. It was so funny seeing him, his spokesman and his statistician desparately floundering time and time again. I don't think there was a single genuine member of the public who wasn't totally anti-camera. And I don't think there was a single debate that CSCP didn't lose. Most irrational camera defenders eventually seem to give up on threads where they're being beaten, but he didn't know when to stop digging; and besides, he couldn't, since it was his forum, and too many people were watching. And he could only pull the "Oh dear it's been mysteriously deleted" trick so many times.
Monolithic threads entitled "Unanswered questions"; the word "scam" being censored and replaced with a teacher-like rebuke; absurd statement after absurd statement from C******an (what letters would you replace the asterisks with? An H and a couple of As somewhere I think) as he desperately fought a losing battle. It really was immensely satisfying watching him desperately try to make the facts fit with his ridiculous views. He couldn't possibly have made CSCP look worse if he'd tried. A truly wonderul forum.
I'm surprised that it took so long for it to be shut down. It was obvious from the very beginning that faciliating the flow of true information would not help an SCP. I emailed C******an a few months ago to ask when it was reopening (since we were told at the time of closure that it was probably only temporary). I'm still waiting for a reply.
How's it going Steve?

Having lots of fun trying to persuade councillors that huge chunks of their unringfenced budgets should be going on your monstrously mean murder machines? I do hope so. Do let us know how you're getting on sometime. In the meantime, we'll be thinking of you.

Such people rarely admit their prejudices openly; instead, they make false or exaggerated claims about the adverse effects of road transport in order to justify calls for higher taxation or restrictions on mobility."
