I know this isn't a "personal finance" site, but handy hint if you happen to hold an MBNA credit card - for [insert deity or deities of your choice]'s sake check the next payment "due date" on your most recent statement!
MBNA have recently changed the dates on a number of accounts and hidden the notification away with a load of technical changes in one of their periodical notifications of changes in terms and conditions.
In my case that would have changed the due date from on or about the 3rd (just after latest possible payday) to the 23rd - and taken out two payments in one month! Since I pay the entire balance by Direct Debit that would have made rather a nasty hole in my finances.
Thinking about it, maybe that's what upsets them - giving me free credit for up to two months. Now, if I was the cynical type I might think they were fishing for late / bounced payment charges...
The part of this I find really odd is that when I phoned up to query it they changed the date back without a quibble from NEXT month - claiming that it was too late to alter it this month - and offered me interest free month when I pointed out that they would be costing me by this. If they can just change the date back again

, why alter it in the first place?
