Researchers claim the Greater London Authority's (GLA) target to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2025 are likely to fail.

Instead the report says emissions could be cut by 72% by 2030 if cars were banned from the city.

How much of the CO2 is produced by cars and how much is produced by all the buildings in London? Surely all the heating, lighting, air conditioning etc. produces a lot more CO2 than cars.

and all the buses operating anywhere but the very centre of London which have no more than 5/6 people on them except for 3 peak hours during the day - the supposedly 'friendly' option for the enviro crowd is far far worse outside of peak times.

Will the City look like a "28 Days Later" film set?

Simple enough to assess: do cars give off 72% of emissions? If not, then what are they talking about?

Good old Boris reckons the newest buses use 3 times as much fuel as the older, lighter Routemaster - is that true?

Certainly picked up the same about trains, that the new ones weight twice as much and emit a corresponding amount of CO2
