Does the legal concept of an "Invalid carrage" (typically those funny little three wheeled jobs) still exist. If so, whatdiferences are there (Licencing, definitions, restrictions etc) between an "Invalid carrage" and other types of road vehicle.

Yes it still exists although the little blue three wheelers don't anymore. (interesting bit of motoring trivia here - apparently they were built by AC - the company that gave us the "Cobra")!

It's complicated nowadays by the fact that there are loads of electric "scooters / wheelchairs" that could go on the road too.

I don't know what the driver licensing requirements are but you could try www.dvla.gov.uk - they have a load of stuff on licensing requirements!

I believe that you're right on the AC connection .
What is interesting about the electric "scooters / wheelchairs is that since they are low speed no licence is needed, making me wonder if I got one that could go faster would I be covered as I have "invalid carriage "(possibly like a lot of older peeps) on my licence.
