56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Is this not just another one for them to have handy, when they can’t use CO2 as an excuse any longer.

It'll never take off since as the article states the west doesn't really produce much in the way of soot any more, good luck getting the people of Africa to give a damn.

I suppose it'll give them an excuse to crank up the tax burden on diesels now that they've encouraged everyone to buy them though.

What a fiddle that was, luckily I never got interested enough in diesels to make the change. As you say, I wonder myself just how much they will now use them to justify crucifying the motorist with even more taxes. I'd be interested to know what the ratio is for Petrol and Diesel cars on the road.

Ah Ahh! Just like Arthur Scargill said in 1984....."clean burn coal is the future" and what's more: GW Bush now in 2008 has agreed with him!

I'm Sorry, but I have to smile sometimes..... :)
