Well, nearing the end of the race, and it looks like it's neck-and-neck.
At the end of the course it looks like Ken is tiring, and Boris is slightly out-of-breath too.
Which will it be ?

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Can't tell. It's a sad state of affairs but i'll be voting Boris simply because I don't want Ken in again - he's a nightmare endlessly imposing his draconian agenda upon the people of London - I honestly can't understand how he still gets votes... but then I guess some people enjoy being watched 24/7, seeing GLA tax grabbing increase each year with no improvement in services, seeing tube/bus system become a joke once more, the prospect of £25 p/day congestion charge, extension of the zone, 20mph city wide speed limit etc etc etc.

It's a bad time for democracy when I'm voting to get someone out, rather than to get someone in.

isn't that the whole point? I'm voting against ken too.

One thing I've noticed about my generation is how fashionable it is to hate the tories. Doesn't matter that labour have taken and developed most of the tories worst ideas... constantly I hear "I would never vote tory", with such adamance it comes across as more a badge of honour or part of their identity than a considered opinion.

I have never voted Labour and never will. The clue is in the name. The harder you work the more they take off you. Currently the opposite seems true as well. :bunker: Ken must be desperate if the best he can come up with is Boris' lack of experience.

I would be tempted by the LibDems if it were not for the fact that they are a slightly more cranky than Labour.

So it will be Boris for me. He is not perfect but he is saying what i want to hear. I just hope he implements it when/if he gets elected.

The Mayor of London is only voted in my the residents of London, yet his powers affect more than just the residents of said city. How can he impose his congestion tax and emmisions tax plus what ever others I'm unaware of on people that didn't get chance to vote for him?

I like going to London, but do so as little a possible.

If you want to be a bit more scientific about deciding who to vote for, try this...

http://news.sky.com/skynews/fixed_artic ... 44,00.html

(When I did it it came out 6/3/2 Boris/LibDem/Red Ken)

I was 8/11 for Boris.

This sort of surprised me, as I am a 'green' person. Hell. I used to be a member of The Ecology Party, well, until I kept stumbling over people who made Moonbat seem reasonable!

Interesting that for all his hot air, Livingstone is less genuinely green than Boris...

9/1/1 for Boris, or "BoJo" as Vanessa Feltz has been heard to refer to him.

I would have/will vote that way anyway.

7/3/1 Boris/Newt/Also-Ran

And there I was feeling guilty about giving him a score above 0! ;)

The thing that also needs to be considered is that Livingstone has a history of completely shattering his promises (e.g. "The Congestion Charge will stay at £5 until at least 2013"). So even though I prefer his answer to the "How should London's mayor improve security on public transport?" question, I'm very sceptical that he intends to do what he says he will. If he wants to ensure that all overground stations are staffed when operating, why has he not already done so during his two terms (in fact staffing levels have been drastically reduced)?

So, when adjusted for honesty, my scores are actually 10/0/1 Boris/Newt/Also-Ran. 8-)

If Livingstone does still manage to win after all the revelations, I will despair, and wonder just what has to happen for him to lose. It shows how twisted people like Spindrift are that they will still vote for Livingstone; never mind all the corruption, lies and association with dodgy clerics, never mind the huge fare rises and everything else, as long as he's giving motorists hell then that eclipses everything else. Incredible spite and negativity.

Livingstone has worked hard to build a constiuancy in "Minority" groups who he hopes will be suitably gratefull to him come election time (as has HMG! like livingstone They know they cannot rely on the "Natives" to support them so they have imported huge numbers of migrants who they hope will pay them back with votes come election time! :x )

The fact that Boris has been chasing the forign vote so blatantly pretty well confirms this hypothesy
