I reckon it's more a case of them loving themselves than hating us.

No Steve they hate us! the "people" (especially Brown and his cronies).They want the world for themselves and us as their slaves. "They" are like parasites feeding off of the people. I’m not saying the people should get their own way either but, we all need to live in a fair and just society and not living under "masters" whose only goal is to pillage each and every country and the people living within those countries.

Jomukuk I only hope for the sake of the world that Obama is as true as he is starting out. Brown and especially Blair started out with hopeful promises so, only time will tell.

I’m still going to have to disagree. Those with the ambition to rise through such ranks (especially given their fierce competition) are surely doing it for themselves (being a little sociopathic helps). I don’t doubt many within their culture derive amusement by occasionally, without accountability, squishing ants and watch how the others scurry around them.
They don’t do it because they hate ‘the people’ – why should they? They must love us because we continue to generally support the system they use to retain their hold over us.

If anything, what they hate is ‘the people’ becoming wise to them; they probably hate sites like these, but they must love our media!
