Bus driver in court over pensioner’s death

A BUS driver has appeared in court following the death of a Bolton pensioner.
Andrew Ch, appeared before Bolton magistrates in connection with the death of 83-year-old Samji
C, who drove for First Bus, is accused of
causing death by careless driving, causing death by driving a vehicle without a licence, driving while disqualified

and driving a vehicle without consideration for other road users.
Mr P, suffered chest and shoulder injuries after being hit by a bus in Derby Street, Bolton, on September 28 last year. He died three weeks later.
C has been remanded on unconditional bail until a Crown Court committal hearing at Bolton Magistrates Court on May 29.
