Hole halts traffic
April 29, 2009

MOTORISTS were forced to drive to safety after a gaping hole appeared in the middle of a busy road.

Part of Barlow Moor Road, in Didsbury, gave way leaving an 8ft x 6ft hole across both lanes.

Cars escaped serious damage as drivers cleared the area as the road began to sag below them, eyewitnesses said.

The road finally collapsed to reveal a hole - at least 6ft deep - just after a bus passed over it.

No one was hurt but the incident left traffic queuing in and out of the village.

The road was closed this afternoon between Wilmslow Road and Palatine Road.

A police spokesman said: "At 1.40pm we received a report from a business based on Barlow Moor Road that a large hole had appeared in the road. "A few minutes later there were reports that two cars had gone into the hole and damaged their bumpers."

One of the posters on the comment page ? MART chap. Known to Jazz who worked with him on that project  He also was the guy who invited the late Paul Smith to the petition launch in June 2007

Yes, let's make the roads more dangerous to make them 'safer' :banghead:

Edit: It's come to my attention that comment might be just a little bit... errrm ironic
It's a sad world sarcastic messages of such sarcasm are confused with those from the 'speed kills' group, as well as the suck-up trolls who follow them!
