Possibly doing an audit. Or looking out for something. Don't panic .. you are in 10%+2 margins.

What a sad world we live in....I remember when ALL dual carriageways were 70MPH....now a LOT are 50MPH....what's the point????

I remember driving for several years when all roads outside of towns and villages were derestricted, and I continue to have difficulty with this 'new' regime. Sorry, IG. :)

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Hey .. I just about old enough to remember my Dad lamenting over that. He was also in "Traffic" at the time :hehe: I think he was one of the reasons why I followed his example and joined the police. I did consider accountancy in my final year and almost joined an accountancy firm on what was called the "milk round"

Then saw the police graduate recruitment stand :hehe:

So long as you are fairly "compliant" - I might use some discretion around your area. Like N Yorks. Sometimes drive down to Whitby/Scarborough/Robin Hood's Bay for "days out - especially when visiting the other equally mad female feline - the wild one's big sister! :yikes:

Seriously - we have been discussing speed limits and need for roads to be set fairly and appropriately along with driver training/responsibilty on many occasions on this forum. We do need realistic speed limits to be set if we are to encourage safe driving and better compliance to the laws. I think there's no serious issue over 20 mph on residentials but quite a lot of concern over very long straight 70 mph DCs being turned to 50 mph though.

This is where the local police and traffic / highways authorities should get together and reach a conclusion on the appropriate speed limit for the road, and not some faceless beaurocrat or "SAPP" (shiny a**** pen pusher) sat behind a desk
who hasn,t a clue what the road is like or doesn,t know the area at all :bunker: :bunker: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :loco: :loco:

Local knowledge is ten times better than no knowledge at all but tyring to get the powers that be to understand this is like trying to push water up a mountain :? :? :? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :loco: :loco: :loco:
