Well if you read my previous topic you will remember my concerns prior to making my journey to oxfordshire.

Well I got here safe and sound wednesaday night and am currently resting off a full xmas dinner.

Couple of things concerned me on my journey however.

The first was this camera that flashed as I drove under it on the m25 anti clockwise betwene the m11 AND m1.

Some areas were down to 50mph due to road works but majority was 70mph. Im 99.9999999% sure I saw eveerything there was to see, however this camera that was on a very very high GREY pole flashed a very tiny white flash, appeared to happen multiple timesa and I saw more sometimes on the oppisite side also flashing randomly.

Are these the traffic cameras you see on traffic sites that are constantly updated?

They are not yellow specs cameras, theyre on a very tell grey pole and are grey themselves.

Also does anyone know much about the roadworks from the watford m25 junction to the m40? For those who wants junctions 17 and 18 appear to stay on the left in about 2-3 lanes of motorway, whilst those who wish to carry on ( as I did) get moved into the this ONE laned bit nearest to the central res. The speed limit said 50 in the middle and I saw nothing else so I assumed it was 50 for my side too am I right to think this.

Regards,

Rob

There are no speed cameras that flash on tall grey poles; you may have got that illusion as you passed and the sun or whatever light was available reflected off the lens/glass cover.

If you have seen signs facing you that look like the safespeed logo but are replaced with numbers that are 30. 40. 50. or even 60 and 70 then it is a good chance that they will be telling you what the maximum speed you can proceed at in a car or motorcycle. Keep safely within those and you will not need to pay any attention to speed enforcement equipment or activity whatsoever. If you drive a van or other types of vehicles you will also need to learn the limits for those.

Having read your last thread and now this one it seems you are having trouble recognising the speed limit; it is quite easy to read the limit when you know how and make an effort to learn to do that. I would respectfully suggest that you have more chance of being safe and lawful by learning the rule of the road through further training than to become expert in the ways of speed enforcement; that route is doomed to failure if you frequently exceed the lawful limit through ignorance or attempted manipulation. Exceed the limit frequently and you will be caught....eventually.

Good luck and keep learning to drive.

I am an ultra cautious and very careful driver and its more about being paranoid I'll miss something than it is about not knowing.

What type of cameras are they Im almost certain they flashed every so often as I drove near them some were on the other side too.

They're quite high up, and on grey poles and are grey themselves and all down the north section of the m25
