There is a similar questionnaire at Vote for Policies, for which i appear to be 55% UKIP and 45% BNP!!

This is probably because people tend to go for clear policies like "jail all criminals" rather than "the average mean normalised pension should be within 5% of the previous quartile transparency" ;)

Also questions like "The number of MPs should be reduced by 10%" are pointless. What if you strongly feel that it should be 11%? The question does not differentiate whether you actually want more or less!

Vote for policies did not work, Firefox maybe, the policy text was just overlaid on itself and so unreadable. That aside I decided that for this election I would vote for the local candidate I liked most based what I could find out about their backgrounds and what they support. Of the parties that have candidates standing I cannot say that any of them have a set of policies that really stand out for me so going for the person that will do the best job imo is the only way I can vote.

Don't know how many candidates will be standing in our constituency , but IMHO-there's one that I won't even look at . Our member ( with whom I've had lots of dealings over local issues ) is retiring . The decision has been taken that we will get (not the best person to represent us ) ,but the best female -males have been de selected -so how can I be assured that this party has selected the best.So ,scratch one - and funnily enough -Mrs B got a letter last week asking for her support - none for me - so her back is up - another vote lost .

No surprise for me, both surveys tell me I don't agree with any of the parties but I agree less with some than others.

Exactly the same situation in High Peak. And the same reaction from me. Perhaps, apropos another thread, they should have all-gay shortlists :)

You can find a list of candidates for your constituency on http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/guide/seats-a-d

That is strange?

I use Firefox 3.6 with NoScript (i only allow scripts from voteforpolicies.org.uk and permit session cookies) and it works fine!

3.6.2 here, tried it again just now and it worked, haven't even restarted FF!

The result was not that surprising though different from the other site, more interesting was that the top choice from the first site did not even figure in the results from voteforpolicies.

I think this greatly underplays the collectivist, anti free trade aspect of the BNP's economic policies (and also their inherent racism) and so is likely to suggest people vote for them who in practice wouldn't remotely agree with them.

I input the opposite to what I believe and got a draw between Lab/Con !

There must be a moral there somewhere.

Turns out they have re-arranged the boundaries, I am not in the ward for the town I live in any more, but the one that covers the neighbouring village and central borough town. Bit annoying since I had spent some time investigating the candidates and thought I knew who would be getting my vote, now I have to do it again for another lot. None of them are looking very promising at the moment.
