A Speed camera down my neck of woods has been Put out of Action again. :D I think it was set alight by Vandals. :) It Is at the Start of a 30mph limit on a straight 3 mile stretch of road, they have chevrons painted on the road to keep your distance. £10,000 , what else could they use on that? I wonder how many kids will be booked for running in the school ground. :D

It would also be interesting to see how many of the were photographed for exceeding the speed limit

Additionally I have been told that the Avon and Somerset Scamera Partnership are having difficulty recruiting staff! They were short of 3 Talivan operators and had to scale down their operations...

Now there's something..couldn't one of us infiltrate the scam and then we can dish some real dirt from insider knowledge...It'll be like dish-dish-dish :D Incidentally here's the job description:

Scamerati Operator Required to fill demanding roll

Must have a head for heights as operations on motorway bridges required. Also must have bush and twig clearing experience in order to conceal yourself in undergrowth. Complete disregard for the rules of the road required and a healthy appetite for meeting targets (raising revenue). Must have strong anti car feelings preferrably from T2000 and you should possess the desire to NOT practice what you preach by doing double the speed limit.

Honest officers need not apply. What are you waiting for come and join the bandwagon!!

Phone 1800 don't speed for an application form or...

Email speedfreakatyahoo.co.uk for further info.

I can tell you all this: I run a recruitment business and if ever I get a CV with Scamera Operator on it, it will be filed under 'B for Bin' or 'R for Rubbish'. We would never help a former Scamera Operator to find employment, even if this cost us business. I would even be happy to tell such a candidate why I was not prepared to help then in any way.

The number of times that scamera vans have been caught speeding by police cars is quite surprising, especially considering the lack of police patrols these days.

It does make me wonder whether talivan operators are a freemasons-style club, where you never prosecute someone of your own kind, with the result that talivan operators can almost speed with impunity.

Is a sawn off GATSO a new type of Scamera that can be hidden underneath a coat to rob innocent motorists?

Really? I thought it was spontaneous combustion - divine intervention, a bit like the burning bush, or Lot's wife getting turned into a pillar of salt!!
