The local authorities want to bring their fines in line with London, which has a higher upper limit of £120.

And another weary scheme continues:

LGA Vice Chairman Councillor David Sparks said councils were having to find new ways of funding services.

"Councils invest millions of pounds every year in improving roads and public transport and play a key role in cutting congestion and reducing harmful emissions.

56 years after it was decided it was needed, the Bedford Bypass is nearing completion. The last single carriageway length of it.We have the most photogenic mayor though, always being photographed doing nothing

Not round our way they don't...they certainly spend lots of money to increase congestion and increase harmful emmissions, like the dozens of traffic lights that I sat at between 8PM and 12PM last night with less than 3 cars waiting at them.

I'm under the impression councils don't want motorists in town centres !
Well i don't have a problem there :)
When businesses start going down perhaps they will start to listen to sense ?

NOW then - VAT going up in January . Councils getting less money from central Gov't . The Council books need balancing - WE NEED COMPENSATION - so who's easy meat .We can't hit the ratepayers, they'll only vote us out( or vote in a coalition group) . We need an easy target which hasn't fought back . It's either the pensioners ( who've go no cash) , or motorists . Oh-,WELL ,looks like we've got to find another way of screwing yet more out of the unwary motorist .
