1231 train from Whaley Bridge to Dove Holes was 3 minutes late at start and at destination. Plenty of seats. No objectionable passengers. £2.40 for 6 miles.
1847 #199 bus from Whaley Bridge to Chapel-en-le-Frith was 8 minutes late at start, 5 minutes late at destination. Plenty of seats. One passenger smelling of alcohol. 3 miles free on Gold Card

Thursday 08 December
0839 train from Whaley Bridge to Stockport spot on time both ends. Train full but not overcrowded. Enjoyable chat with man sitting opposite me who turned out to be a member of the to MR team to which I used to belong.
1505 train from Stockport to Whaley Bridge five minutes late both ends. Met a friend in the waiting room and spent journey chatting. Plenty of seats.
20 mile round trip - £2.75 on Gold Card
