The month is now MARCH, and we still do not have any figures for casualties on the roads in Cumbria on the CSCP website!

It is not because they don't have them - they are available elsewhere. :whome:

I can only think that the delay is due to the time taken to come up with a plausible spin on the figures for last year. :(

Meanwhile the revamped Safer Roads For Cumbria website looks... well it looks like a pale imitation of the Sun newspaper website!
There IS some useful information there - but you have to be fairly savvy to find it - but that IS better than the feeble effort that passes as the web portal for the Cumbria "Safety" Camera Partnership and their "NEWS" page!! :tumbleweed:

Alas, they are *definitely* still around - spotted a van lurking on a motorway bridge on the M6 Northbound after Jct 41 today, bunching all the traffic up just like they like. I honestly can't fathom why they think operating in locations like this where they have no warning signs is an appropriate action - it causes folk from outside the local area who aren't expecting them to be there to react very strangely (and dangerously) on occasion!

Our local safety partnership are now promoting the use of traffic lights and congestion as safety "tools"...muppets!

Admin Note - Taken this interesting article to it's own thread here - thanks.

Well well... they must have been pricked by my criticism!

We now have TWO months figures posted up in one go!

I wonder if we can repeat this initial success... :scratchchin:

The NEWS page of the site appears to be stuck in a time warp...!

I won't be holding my breath... :whome:
