Topic : The first quarter shows that there is little real change to the Statistics since, so many Gatso Cameras have been turned off. This helps to prove the Safe Speed message that speed cameras are not helping to reduce accidents or provide any positive contribution to road safety.

Indeed, although whenever Paul set his mind to study something, it was done with such passion, ability and skill that he became so knowledgeable he could discuss it in such great depth most thought he must have studied it for decades.
And then there is the fact that he was (neigh) always right ! :)
How tragic that people have died, who may not have done, as a result of misled Government officials, pursuing this flawed speed camera industry as if it was the panacea to road safety !

It is tragic, but it's a brilliant ruse. For a government to be able to appear actively and visibly engaged in casualty reduction and promoting road safety whilst also making a profit? Brilliant. If people accuse them of failing to address road safety effectively, they trot out some camera stats laughing all the way to the bank. And the cameras are so ubiquitous that people mistake them for an ever-present and effective road safety measure while the government rakes it in. It's not road safety. It's another form of oppression and tax.

Ah, yes, I remember seeing Paul on TV years ago. RIP.
