Newham Way has long had the average speed cameras and the gatsos bagged up. Fair enough, it's 50, which is at least bearable. However what is going on with the road from East India tunnel to the 50 mph and from the 50 mph. This is, technically, a 30, although it is impossible to keep to 30 and no one does. It is artificially low as a limit. For a while now it has looked as if they are extending the average speed to encompass the 30 zone both from and to Newham Way. There is an average speed sign east-bound and signs that are covered up west-bound. Anyone know what is going on? To have a 30 limit there is criminal, to enforce it rigidly is insane. I have never seen anyone keep to 30 in the tunnel (east-bound, it is on a slope, so you'd have to trail the brake) or the rest of it. 40 would be a compromise. Around 50 the 85th, depending on times/conditions. The cameras in Limehouse Link are bad enough. That is another impossible and pointless 30. Anyway, anyone know what is going on with the average speed in the 30 sections on the A13?
