My land rover needs to have all four wheels rotating at about 5kph for the abs to set itself.
My motorcycle, which has abs, is the same. Every year it is a struggle to get the mot tester to not fail it because the abs warning does not go off on the rolling road. Same with the hazard lights (m/cycle) which are NOT an mot item on a m/cycle.
I find it varies from station to station . My usual place ( which got it's ass kicked a few years ago ) used to flag up
1) Front discs low ( they were ,from Haynes , midway ,from my micrometer readings) .
2) Rear exhaust silencer ,heat protection corroded - no blowing .
Then a major fast fit company
1) Nail in rear nearside tyre ( it was actually in spare ,which had never been on car -so go figure)
2) Brakes judder on HARD braking - I was told years ago by a tester that it's not necessary to hammer the brakes on a test .I did see the test - car was almost off test rig on test .Personally ,I've never had any signs of judder ,so shudder to think how hard he'd been hammering the brakes .
3) Unable to test rear wheel bearings - wheel binding - on asking for further info -it came back that wheel was siezed . But he drove it to car park ,and I drove it home . In fairness , I later found that the rear brakes did stick on - a joint on the shoes was sticking . But how much did his misuse of right foot add to problem ?
But then test fee was lower than normal - catch ( i DIDN'T CHECK UP ON ) was that retest was extra . So go figure -they wanted FAILS .
Personally ,I now use a small place ,where i can sit in car .
