Who is the inconsiderate driver when the car in front simply will NOT pull to the left?
My gripe!
I do not ostensibly object with anyone hogging the outside lane if they are doing the speed limit safely, even though they shouldn't. But I admit to undertaking when some numpty is hogging the outside lane mile after mile at much less than the limit. I've touched on this before..
Undertaking is not a problem in America, (who often get unjustly denigrated for dumbness), and I don't see why it should be a problem for us 'clever' English. If you are aware of your surroundings, as you should be, and give clear indication and time for any maneuver, undertaking should neither be dangerous nor illegal IMHO.
So, if you are following some nob in the outside lane needlessly doing 10 or 20 mph under the limit you have to live with it - right?

Meanwhile in the 21st century, when the expression 'time is money' has never been more pertinent, that's just how it is sorry.

Something else I have never quite understood is why 'someone' hasn't simply looked around the world and taken the best ideas of what works best for: the motorist, pedestrians and safety

How can different countries have such different opinions on speed & safety? We're maniacs and murderers for doing more than 70mph whereas in France, Germany....
I guess It's because we are so very clever only we know what's best and expect the rest of the world to follow our wonderful example
