Driver fined for 'having a face like a moron'

A Romanian traffic cop has been demoted after he fined a driver for "having a face like a moron and being a big monkey".

Marius Vlasceanu pulled over Gheorghe Tosa as he drove through Craiova in Romania, local daily Jurnalul National reported.

But Tosa failed to see the funny side as Vlasceanu fined him £22 and handed him a ticket explaining the reason for the fine was "having a face like a moron and being a big monkey".

Head of the Romanian police Dan Fatuloiu said Vlasceanu, who claimed he had handed out the fine as a joke, had been demoted for "inappropriate behaviour and defaming the police force".

He has now been given a desk job in a remote village.

I can just see Ian H doing well with this, if it were introduced into Kendal!
It could be even more successful in Bowness on a Friday and Saturday night!

:hehe:

If I was on commision for the issue of such tickets, I could think of a lot of places more lucrative than Kendal or Bowness!

But it's one of the wonderful bonuses in our job, to watch the mishaps, fallouts, and generally less inhibited behaviour of our drunken revellers from a respectable distance.

I'm glad they don't hear what we say about them!

PC Savage all over again ....

But then - has not USA just revoked some bye-law about men wearing skimpy swimming trunks?

And let's not forget the Mayor of St Tropez banning tubs of lard from wearing bikinis on the basis that "it lowered the tone of the resort!"

Wonder how this would go down at Fell Foot on one of those rare sunny days....

Prostitutes complain of police voyeurs
Prostitutes in a Dutch city say their business is being ruined by policemen turning up to watch them have sex with clients.
Working girls in Groningen have complained to the mayor because they say embarrassed customers are being put off.

Prostitutes foundation De Straatmadelief said up to a dozen police cars have been parking near street sex zones so officers can watch them at work.
"Instead of focused inspections, they are coming and watching like monkeys," the foundation said in a written complaint handed to the mayor.
A spokesman for the group said. "If it is quiet in the city centre, dozens of cars come to the street sex zone to watch. But if the police are really needed when there is trouble, you don't see anyone."

The foundation wants Groningen Mayor Jacques Wallage to get police to cut down on the number of patrols to one per night instead of "up to a dozen an hour".

Sounds like they need a few cameras to ensure nobody goes too quickly!!
