BBC Radio Cumbria did a piece on the fixed cameras, mentioned that they are not turned on yet.

The CSCP guy quoted the 69% reduction again with no clue as to what it relates to or how it's worked out, so listens still none the wiser.

The presenter said they always get listeners phoned in complained everytime a CSCP guy comes on, not surprised considering how bad they are at informing the public the effect the cameras are having.

Who was the guy? It's usually Kevin Tea, but Steve 'I'm not a legal expert' Callaghan has been known to fill in..

Richard Nankivell gave him a good grilling, asking about the motorists who speed up after leaving the cameras. Somebody from Windermere phoned in and pointed out that the cameras did'nt actually STOP speeders, but allowed them to continue on their merry way - not sure who THAT was!!

The Drive Time program tonight (5-7.00pm) featured a report on the AA supporting an increase from 70 to 80 mph on Motorways. That ridiculous spokeswoman from BRAKE was dragged on to show how ignorant and uninformed she was.
Apparently all the crash barriers are substandard, and are not capable of keeping cars in check if they crash at that speed!!
Also in congested traffic, drivers weave in and out of lanes, and it is unsafe to do that at 80 mph!!

Rabid shooting from the lip!!!
