I've created this topic to carry links to visitor's web sites. This is because I've always found it difficult to adequately maintains the Safe Speed links page. This way, visitors will be able to maintain their own links. I'll add instructions to the Safe Speed links page, but anyone wishing to add a link and reading this can just hit "post reply" and type away. Note that you can include logos, links and text.

I would like to offer a link to speedcameras.org which is campaigning for the fair placement of speed cameras and the removal of cameras that shouldn't be there. We believe that the police should focus their resources more on illegal motorists who have no license, tax, insurance, or the car is not roadworthy or registered.

The site features the very latest speeding related news, opinion polls and a fully loaded facts & figures section.

SpeedLIMIT: http://www.speedlimit.org.uk

"Promoting better, safer roads and sensible traffic law enforced with discretion" - with a particular focus on the North-West of England, but including much material of general relevance.

(thanks to Paul Smith for the logo :) )

If anyone is interested in the history, design, signing and nomenclature of the British road network, they really should take a look at SABRE (the Society for All British Road Enthusiasts) at:

http://www.sabre-roads.org.uk

This is not a campaigning group (and indeed there are road enthusiasts who oppose further roadbuilding) but if you want to know anything about the British road network, this is the place to ask.

The site includes a lively and active forums section.

I've been looking around for some detailed info about Gatsos, and while I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for I have come across couple of sites for anyone interested in driver perspectives in other countries.

http://www.roadsense.com.au/ Aussie site which claims that speed cameras are preventing less than 2% of fatalities in Australia. Seems they're told speeding causes 1/3 of accidents as well, and they don't believe it either. Says nice things about SafeSpeed too :)

http://www.sense.bc.ca/ Canadian (British Columbia)anti-camera site. Lots of familiar looking stuff. Speed apparently causes 40% of accidents there although 2/3 are below the limit and 2/3 are alcohol/drug related, leaving a tiny percentage left for the Gatsos to deal with. Sound familiar?

Not really a link as such, but i've find a nice little pricing error that allowed me to buy my speed camera detection hardware at an incredibly cheap price.

I don't know if it is intentional or not, or whether it will still work, but they honoured the sale for my Snooper S4 - give this a go if you're interested...

1. Go to the page http://www.snoopersonline.co.uk/pricematch.php
2. Select which product you want to pricematch
3. Instead of putting a competitor's address, put the site itself (http://www.snoopersonline.co.uk) and it will let you buy at what are by far the best prices I could find.

We have a new website: http://www.fastandsafe.org which provides source data and debunking analyses on New Zealand's current rigid enforcement policies.

We also have a lot of Official Information Act requests in the pipeline which we anticipate will provide further ammunition once the bureaucrats stop wriggling and cough up.

Feedback is welcome.

Regards
Alan Wilkinson

Raadius is a place for people who love to drive. What you drive, who you are, and your level of skill does not matter. We want to foster a community of drivers in the UK and beyond who share information, advice, experiences and - above all - their passion for driving.

Through Raadius' content, drivers' forum and links, we want every one of you to enjoy driving more than you ever thought possible.

This may be of use to some people out there that want to find an affordable GPS Speed Camera Detector

Image
This Speed Camera Detector from INFORAD uses a combination of green, yellow and red LEDs and audible beeps to inform you that you are approaching a risk area, accident black spot or known speed camera location.

Hi - as a fellow car enthusiast and enemy of state interference, why not take a minute or two to browse our new news site focusing on the North East Hampshire, Surrey & Berkshire borders:

www.thefreepressonline.co.uk

Many thanks!
