Very interesting.
This sounds to me to be very much in the domain of auditing and accountability and independent scrutiny.
Because the whole SCP apparatus is not a regular commercial organisation I'm not sure how these areas are dealt with, but I would have thought that a lot of the pertinent information was available to the public.
Things like:
- who are the auditors?
- what processes are audited?
- to what level are they audited?
- how often are they audited?
- who has access to the results/findings/recommendations?
Similarly for technical audits of equipment, systems and the procedures related to their use.
I presume that somewhere within this technical audit there would be details of the security of photographic evidence and data integrity, which is where the use of MD5 hashing techniques would be one possible aspect.
Does anyone have any official information on this?
Very interesting indeed
