I read a piece in today's Express that made me chuckle. Apparently Mr C used to have a bit of 'thing' about Kate Moss, an infatuation that was dashed when she was introduced to him at a social bash. The exchange went something like.....

Host: "Kate, I'd like you to meet Jeremy Clarkson, he does Top Gear"

Ms Moss "Eh? He's a drug dealer?"

Doh!

But everyone knows that greenpeace do-gooders, particularly of the long haired student idealist generation are trouble making scum, hardly news is it?

Easy, mate. I've been a long haired idealist yet don't think I have ever deserved the label "trouble making scum". I'm older, fatter and balder now, but still consider myself an idealist of sorts. Just that some of my ideals have been hijacked by people with other long term aims.

I don't think you should confuse the fact that genuine trouble makers like to latch on to similar causes as the long haired student idealists (or fat bald ones  ). I believe it's a mistake to assume they're one and the same. For example, some people on the various anti-Iraq war marches probably had different long term agendas to others. Nothing new there - Churchill, Truman and Stalin all sat down for tea and buns together, but you'd hardly stick 'em all in the same drawer politically would you?
