slightly off-topic maybe, but can anyone familiar with this area please tell me WHY on a stretch of road (A413) no longer than 100 yards running between the roundabout at Chalfont st.peter and gravel hill there is a Gatso speed camera and ALSO a scamera van(targetting traffic either to or from the roundabout) operating most mornings. I have never seen an accident along this stretch of road - so why is it so heavily policed???

Hi edbad,

The camera has been there for a number of years now.

The last serious accident in the area was on the stretch of the A413 between the garage and CstG when the teenagers were killed returning from a party about 10 years ago.

I've never seen a van there and I pass every morning about 0700.

Cheers

Drew

The scamvan is there every week parked in a lay-by which is on the right just before the fixed camera on the left ( as you head towards amersham from denham) from about 9.30am for quite a few hours. certainly there 2-3 mornings a week, seems you pass by before he gets there. So I ask again why so heavily policed?

Safe Speed issued the following PR at 12:17 this afternoon:

PR279: That 'speeding tractor'

Some glitch, probably a human one, caused this post to appear in the wrong topic. Apologies.

That's odd - the post ended up in entirely the wrong topic. Sorry folks.
