I think it's about as good an idea as William Hague's idea to be 'cool' by wearing a baseball cap.

Also why isn't anyone making the point to these 'txtRs' that the whole point of communicating is to make the message easy to understand for the person receiving it. Writing messages purely for your own convenience is pointless.

with modern phones able to write much longer messages anyway do people still text like that anymore (now that the space limitations in a message have gone)?

Don't know - wouldn't it be quicker and easier (and a lot more effective ) to say "we're going to haul you off to your parents to get a good thumping", or say when your parents find out you'll get a good thumping.oh but the parents aint allowed to hit them any more - that's assault, and that was where the rot started.
Some in here might remember the days when if parents found out that you'd got a ticking off from BIB - sitting down for a few hours was not an option

Try texting a BT land line with txt speak. Its a real hoot when the computer voice tries to reproduce it.
