Wow ... some great new additions to BEING SEEN

Hmmm... should I ditch the yellow leggings then... :scratchchin: All the wimmin in my life reckon I cut a dashing high-viz figure... when wearing them...

er... my colleagues .. they :rotfl: when they see me in them

Well it seems there is a new fabric and I think similar to the stuff Krissi brought home from Switzerland last year.

Illuminite This stuff embeds milllions of microscopic reflective dishes into any fabric. Light reflects ofdf the fabric at night but in daylight .. it appears absolutely normal. Apparently this stuff is breathable, machine washable and retains its reflectiveness.

More details of the range on www.bigglo.com 0r call 01824 708 775 for a catalogue and price list.

I think it will catch on... stylish.

You need to wash all your kit at Sellafield's outfall pipe.
You dont have to shine a light ON IT to make it seen... it glows in the dark!!
Seriously though, I like the idea that washing does not destroy the reflective coating. :)

Most of the hi viz can be washed, no more than 40 , but there are firms that specalise in cleaning/rewaterproofing hi viz to manufacturers spec.

:yikes: That  sister-in-law of mine made a tongue in cheek remark once upon a time about silver buttons a-twinkling in the headlamps in a place which - Shhhhhhhhhhhh! we do not now mention.- ... and 'twas like she had indulged in extremities and blasphemies ...

You've not encountered Krissi :yikes: ... you are the lucky one   . .. a lot cheekier and "tomboyish "than our Wildy :neko: - but still much respected on a Swiss cycling (as sport) forum and German car enthusiast forum...where hot potato of a thread is apparently about Schuhmacher claiming benefits "because he is not able to work as racing driver when residing at his Swiss villa" and this means a 20% tax rebate for him....and Swiss State Benefits... Krissi and her car crazed mates - of course - blame a daft law preventing motor sports in Switzerland.... and the Greenies are losing - badly   ...but it's all very polite...so far

As for "Illuminite" - she brought some similar gear back from Geneva (after some event) last year - range of colour to suit any taste and we did have her riding about the Dales and Lake District in this new gear in the dark and in the daylight... and she was clearly visible at all times -from some distance too. I reckon this stuff will catch on .. colours and styles appeal to most in my opinion.
