By the way - if anyone missed it, Wheelbase is back up and running in Staveley.
The receivers tried to do the dirty on the management who wanted to buy it out, but with the support of the landlord, they won through.
Good range of bikes and pieces, and I think the mail order bit is running too.
Judging by the number of Cannondale and Marin boxes by their skip, I guess they are doing quite well already!

The comments come about the price of bikes mainly from people who have bought a matching pair of full suspension MTBs made from concrete for £99 from a supermarket.

The sad thing is that these people then think they can comment on cycling.

It's like a Trabant driver commenting on the price of a Ferrari.

Really? :o
We have cow and horse muck on the roads up here - it tends to get liquid when it rains, and flicks up in front of the front wheel if you dont have mudguards, and you end up either eating it, or breathing it as you ride through it!
PEAK do a front set which fits into the hole under the front stem, which therefore pivots as you turn the bars. I'll lend you mine if you decide to bring your bike up to these parts, and it turns wet! It's more effective than the type which tie-wrap to the downtube, beneath your drink container! :)
My rear guard fits off the saddle stem, but I'm not sure you need one on a AUHD outfit like yours! :D

Ernest - cow muck - sorts the men from the boys - in my younger years (don't forget this was in the north west of scotland in the 60's) i was a keen footballer - and one team used to have bovine grass cutting - and non removal - result on saturdays we played on grass + -we kept clean( i played outside right) untill a sliding tackle , after that - was't bothered ( and if it rained - as was the usual)about keeping clean. Suspect cycling's like that - especially if you're young and keen

you're right, not a lot of bike showing there but good to see it's the right colour!

So are you new to triathlons or is it just the English sun (or lack thereof)?

ahh, I see. Unfortunately your back/backside still get covered in crap, even with this setup. Strangely, you don't get any spray in the face unless you're drafting someone.
