CW examines a number of track pumps this week -most of them appear to pose problems if you have short valves though.

Leader of the tried and tested the Specialised AIR tTOL COMP AT £40. -because it's the easiest to use - but the gauge is not the easiest to see. It needs 18 strokes to fill the tyre and this needs both hands....

The worst one was the cheapest at £20 - finish wise - "not cool enough" and the performance of the chuck was "poor" Takes 30 strokes to fill the tyre too - but can be used one handed ....

Next in CW - the Cycloc - abstact bit of sculpture which looks "cool" as well  8-) At £50 - it's a bit dear - but basically this is designed to store your bike on the wall in your hallway - to "make it part of the decor"

(My bikes keep the cars company in the garage - they seem to "get on well together there - no fights for space!"  )

But in town -= this gadget doubles as a tough lock and you can even secure your helmet, gloves and other commute bits and bobs inside it....so perhaps not so "dear" after all :scratchchin: and could be a goood invest//// 8-) 8-) 8-) :) :)

CW reviews the Vredestein Perfect Moiree tyre - hailed as "saftey led with its REFLECTIVE - BE SEEN strip  and its PRS anti-puncture system - appears a good buy for £15 per tyre.

This tyre is designed for CITY use - and its tread - herringbone alternating with smooth is designed to stop any slides on ice, grit, and wet.

Meanwhile "Miroir du Cyclisme" looks at Air Free tyre on the basis that this is fully recyclable and uses polyurethane instead of rubber.

The tester decided that this tyre gave him the smoothest ride ever and you really "felt the surface of the road and thus able to anticipate road condition and ice earlier"

Seems to translate to our currency as costing £30 per tyre.

Anyone used them - by the way - they are a nice visible yellow
