Clicking on the Google Ads (like the top right of this page) earns us a tiny bit of cash for each click. If it adds up to $100 in a month they send us a cheque in the following month.

This month (July) we might come up short and get no cheque in August. (We would get a larger cheque in September)

So can some of you visit the sites in the Google Ads please? About 100 clicks should do it...

Thanks.

Edited to add: Please don't just sit there clicking ads - that wouldn't be nice - it might even be fradulent. Take a few minutes to visit the site instead. There are plenty of folk around here - 1 or 2 clicks from each of you would be ample.

Yesterday was good. We got 55 clicks, mostly from Forum ads.

But we're not there yet, so please keep those clicks coming.

Thanks to all for your help.

It's happening again - we're coming up short for April and will get no cheque in May.

Please take a few minutes to vist the advertisers and try to get the total up. Thanks folks.

Paul I don't know anything about Google Ads, but is it possible to get a wider range of ads? It seems to be the same old ones all the time. Visited a few anyway

Google ads are influenced by keywords they see on the site (I'm right, aren't I Paul?).

If we all started topics about "My Little Pony" (FOR EXAMPLE), we'd get links to websites selling them

Another forum I infest has a poster with the word "cowbell" in his signature (long story), and hence the site gets adverts for musical instrument vendors selling cowbells....

Sorry, just trying to get an advert that I would be interested in: V*dafone, L&wyers, Vod*fone, Bre&kdown Rec0very, Vodaf*ne, etc just don't interest me that much. :D

That'll probably work - we have 4 googlebot threads crawling the forums right now. As follows:

IP address: 66.249.72.204
Host name: crawl-66-249-72-204.googlebot.com

Eh? How come the words have changed in my quote of your words? How is that possible?

Maybe the software uses pointers to the original text rather than copying it out in full - saves space in the database.

Edited in the light of Pete's "confession" to add... Obviously it doesn't! :-)

I just changed it as otherwise it wouldn't have any effect :D

Sorry to cause any confusion ;)

Yea Gods!

I just had a look at the Google Ads account. We've had 47 clicks so far today earning an amazing $43.65 It occasionally goes up to about $10 or $12 a day, but I've never seen a day like this. I guess those V*d*f*ne clicks are very high value clicks.

Thanks folks. Problem solved. (But don't let that stop you from visiting the advertisers from time to time.)

I had no idea there were people on this forum with that much time to waste!

This is a result from a google ad. Who knows, it might appear here thanks to your efforts.

Dunno... today I've seen nothing but Vodafone ads - which don't interest me in the slightest.

Pete, Pete.... get with the program! Everytime you mention Gonadfone ads by name, it increases the chance they will be in the frame!!

Rewolf wants Golf Swing, Putter, Taylormade, adverts - what's your interest?
