Triangle?
I have only seen "no boom car" in a circle.

I got a weird one, and got it wrong, It showed a green square with a white R in it and asked where you would see that sign.

A - On a ring road
B - On a Motorway
C - Approaching a Roundabout
D - In a car park

I knew it wasn't B or C and I have never ever seen one on a ring road so I went for D since some largs car parks do use a colour and letter scheme to idenify which part of the car park you are in. Turns out you would see it on a ring road. Has anyone ever seen one?

Yes. Around Oxford. I knew I wanted the ring road so followed it. The long way round.

Ring road straight on, ring road left. Helpful...

The one in the lolly means that a driver would not be allowed to drive a vehicle carrying explosives down the road.



The triangle means that there is a danger a vehicle drivng along the road may be carrying explosives !


Actually - I don't think 'I've seen either whilst tootling along - apart from Switzerland... and the Swiss tell me those tunnels are mined in case of "invasion"

However I just flicked through my copy of the TSRGD and can not find the triangle version in there.

I did however notice that the ring road sign has to have a yellow border (which is strange, as all other green backed yellow bordered signs are for emergency signs) and that there is a non-primary route ring road sign, which is a simply black R in a white square with a black border.

Yeah, I've seen the ring road one.

I've also seen the lolly with the 'boom car' sign in it. It was at the entrance to the Blackwell Tunnel in London (at least I THINK it was the Blackwell Tunnel). We went through it only to find out later that we were actually pulling a trailer full of natural gas bottles...

Bearing in mind the topic title, I thought I should put this here....
This joker should fail his reverse parking...

Having driven at an angle into the wide space opposite my car (the silver one at the left edge of the shot), he paused for some time at about twenty degrees to the kerb.

Along came Postman Pat... minus his cat, and proceeded as if to pass the obstruction, when the Audi started to reverse out of the space, towards the post van!
The postie first stopped, and then sounded his horn to alert Audi Man to his presence - where upon Audi Man gave a little blip on the throttle, and collided with the Post Van!

He then got out and started to accuse the postie of driving into the back of his car! I exited MY car, and quickly snapped pictures showing the position of the vehicles - Audi Man had drawn forward a little.

I asked Audi Man if he could see alright out of the rear screen, or in his mirrors - to which he answered he could see perfectly (despite his dark glasses and tinted screen) so I asked if he had heard the warning sound of the horn - to which he replied it was hard to hear in the car when the reversing sensors were bleeping at him!

So blind faith in the sensors appears to have contributed to the accident, but they failed to detect the bright red post van, because of the angle at which they closed !
Audi Man claimed to have been reversing into the space next to my car!
Not much damage to either vehicle - but a costly dinge in the Audi's bumper by the looks of things!

Despite a previous postee failing for block-changing gears, all advanced driving practices whether IAM / RoADA / HPC etc etc actively encourage block-changing, and AD examiners will either mark down or fail a candidate for not doing so.

This is down through the box though, rather than up.
