Thanks to that wonderful piece of legislation the FOI Act, I can confirm from details released to me (after 33 working days ) that CSCP hasn't saved any lives at all

The number of people killed (as opposed to KSI's) specifically at their monitored sites from 1/4/03 to 31/3/06 was 27.

For the period 1/1/00 to 31/3/03 at the same sites prior to monitoring, the number killed was 26.

I dont have a figure for 1/1/00 to 31/3/00 to do an exact comparison, but we get the picture.

So there we have it, no lives saved at all, if anything they have cost lives it appears.

I noticed over on Pepipoo a number of recent cases of 79/80 mph NIPs on the M6 - I've no doubt the drivers concerned will be pleased to know their M6 Toll is being so well spent by CSCP

Maybe someone should tell Christine Twigg, the alleged Chief Constable of Cumbria and invite her comments. Local media would be ideal for this. How will Speedfinder-General Callaghan 'spin' his way out of this, one might wonder. Probably in the usual way, as Ernest has already identified.
