Swedish study claims that a twice weekly ride on a bike (or similar exercise) reduces risk of dementia in twilight years by 50%
They studied 1500 between ages of 65 and 79 years and asked them about their activity levels over past 21 years. Those going "ga-ga" had taken less exercise
How could they remember that.. er - they are a bit -"ga-ga" and I do not mean unkindly - but I cannot help but wonder how they remembered how much exercising they did years ago!
But .. research already shows that if we do take a balanced diet, balanced amount of exercise and balanced amount of mental challenges - we keep blood vessels in brain healty and keep blood pressures and other stresses in check.
