Express yesterday.. und it seems to show that Paulie has support ... und maybe Paulie.. you need to contact some of these firms to get a backing.. ist a thought  There ist support here.. und if I'd get some "feelers" out there.

You know.. those other organisations.. think about it. They started out because of a personal tragedy. That tragedy paid compo which they invested to kick start.

Paulie .. am very ashamed to admit that some of the compo from cousin Ferdl und myself was transferred to this set up fund .. but still I would say it was wisest as intially .. Mary und Brake really made a wonderfully praiseworthy impact on the dodgy garages und haulage companies who paid scant regard to real repairs to vehicles und gave short change to owners und fleet operators alike. But that's how they got the flush funds und they continue to receive from the bereaved as well  I posted on PH SP&L.....

when you hurt.. hurt like hell because someone you really love dies.. or ist injured.. you will do anything to try to assuage that deep hurt.. und you hang on to whoever provides that shoulder or support to lean on.

Ist when you wake up to reality.. und you know.. my Swiss family were like a dormant Vesuvious before Pompeii.

Und blunt speaking ist an Appenzeller trait :hehe:

Ach.. I drift again..

Reporter in "Express" was John Ingham on page 26 (Friday 25/08/06)

It seems UK bosses fear that bottom line ist affected when staf lose licences under tot-up. Business insurance premiums rise. The person who broke law ist not penalised by the loading... the firm ist und we all pay .. even Spindrift indirectly pays as it adds to his shopping und community charge und other bills.. I know he will refute this wherever he now posts.. .. but ist a fact of life.. He should at least think about it - OBJECTIVELY und without the hate thing

Per the paper .. safety campaigners. (read Swiss family.. contributors to this board, Paulie himself.. und Our Mary Brake alike.. ) all say that employers must ensure safe working practices und ditch impossible deadlines.

the same would apply to those bicycling courier firms

Per Leasplan .. 26% of company directors believe speeding reps will affect the "bottom line" They also believe coprate liability will have major impacts on businesses.

Per Leaseplan's MD - Dave Brennan (und worth contacting Paulie?)

Quote:

The growth of speed cameras means more drivers are going to get caught - which means loss of licence und jobs

John Stewart of Roadpeace said
Quote:

Bosses need to get their employees to slow down.

They can make this possible by not setting impossible deadlines und by paying for their staff to go on courses

Ja.. OK.. und Lancs/Manchester prats have at least made a start in this direction. I only have quibble with a couple of issues but by und large . think sound und would hope our submarinated Liebchen in Cumbria will do likewise  But leave out the speed thing    :hehe:

But John.. my firm insists that our reps have IAM..

We are one of the top five in entire world in what we do...

We boast more than one so-called "wonder drug"..

Firm believe it dots the "i" und crosses the "t"

three of its IAM reps were pinged at 34 mph (two by van) und one 35 mph (fixed behind bus stop on A6)

Firm insists that all with company car or right ot use a "pool car" must have bestest qualification in same way as it demands academic/skills qualifications for all other roles within the firm.

Yet those guys got copped und had to do the arbitrary Speed Course as none wanted an endorsement on a clean licence. The assessments whow they did not need it. .. I was naughty in that I posted up the sheet from the youngest und least experienced of our reps. He scored "normal" on first drive und "consistently good" once he has adjusted to a 1L Corsa from a 3L VW "animal"!

Aye, I know what you mean, but there's some good stuff in there - and I think that's what matters. Pity it's sometimes a bit tough going separating it out though.

Good morning dear lady.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

You want to live with it! :yikes:

I am always getting accused of not noticing her new frocks or just grunting when she asks tht immortal question regarding her boobs and behind. :?

I never know what to say on that one!

But even so.... reps on the road all the time.. easy enough to miss a lolly on a strange road and just drift over the limit if they "read its look" wrong - urban duals are probably the most misleading. Set at 30 mph and read by the "unwary or stranger" to be "faster on the eye" and they may tootle up at a pingable 35 mph!

But yes . I would say that there is a lot of poor planning on the part of reps and their employers.

1. The drivers themselves. They know roughly where they are going and should at least allow time for traffic jams as these are a fact of life on any road. It does not take much for traffic to congest at a roundabout, traffic light , road works..

2. They should plan their meetings better. You know it's possible to over run or be kept waiting by person you are seeing. Thus they should space them out and bosses should also be aware of this need to give time to see the person and find the location of the next visit.

3. Time should be allowed for breaks and contacts on mobile phone kept to mimimum.

4. If you are going to drive for a living.. then like the person in the office is supposed to be computer literate... with set of skills and desired qualifications to do the job.. then I cannot see why someone employed to drive on behalf of their employer .. in firm's vehicle and under their logo .. should not be expected to have the "RIGHT QUALIFICATION" for the job and a basic dirving licence may not be the correct qualification for someone hitting the roads for a 35 hour working week
