I just posted this to the CSCP forum:

===================================
The restrictive management of this forum has gone far too far.

I hate censorship.

I hate unnecessary rules.

I hate the bonkers idea that posts are not allowed to include links.

I think CSCP have lost the plot completely.

I want no part of it. Please delete my user account as soon as possible.

They deleted my "resignation" post.

They haven't yet deleted my user account.

I'll post it again.

Third post deleted.

They made this response:
=================================
Mr S has requested that we delete his membership, something I am not going to do as I am not going to turn him into a martyr.

What I have done is set his membership so that I have to validate all his posts.

If he posts something that is relevant to the forum and in a tone that is acceptable then I will let it go onto the board. Any rants that are off topic or ciontain issues that we have asked be directed to us via email, then they will be nuked.

I am posting this is open forum so that all members are aware of the actions taken and so Mr Smith cannot post miscontrued comments elsewhere.
=================================
I change my sig to include this:
I've resigned from this forum due to censorship, but they refuse to honour my request and delete my account.

I expect they will find it soon AND CENSOR IT.

What a bunch of anally retentive clowns.
Getting more like the government all the time, Free Speech, soon be illegal under this communist regime we are developing in this country.

Further comments by CSCP staff:

http://www.cumbriasafetycameras.org/for ... wtopic=787

Quote:
However, even now I have had to delete some rant from Mr Smith saying how much he hates censorship etc etc and we've lost it. He also made a request for us to delete his membership here which I am not going to do as no doubt he will post elsewhere that he has been victimised and I am not going to turn him into a martyr.

I've resigned, whether they delete my user account or not. Neither did I rant, nor am I prone to ranting. But of course they deleted my post so visitors can no longer decide for themselves who's right about that.

Quote:
I don't even post on his site and I sure as hell don't storm in and have the gall to tell him how to run it. The arrogance of the man !

Of course, I wasn't telling them how to run it - I was giving my opinion on how they are running it - very badly indeed.

Quote:
As to honouring Mr Smith's requests, I am dubious about his motives. If he truly doesn't want to be here then he doesn't have to log in. Simple as that really.

He can be as dubious as he likes. I posted quite clearly what I thought about the running of the CSCP forum and I posted exactly why I no longer wished to be a part of it.

No2: Why did you resign?
No6: I am not a number, I am a free man.

No6: Who is number one?
No2: You are number 6.

Who is number 1?

I remember Get Smart a bit. I remember the doors in the title sequence. Was the lady agent 99? I'm not clear. I didn't watch it regularly.

Yup - got it in one.

She wasn't quite as daft as the dipstick of an agent himself (Max I think) - but not far off...

I'm now racking my brains trying to think of the theme tune.

Edit: Having just googled it, the analogy is uncanny - although I might now suggest that 86 is nearer the mark than 99 for No 2 :wink:

The agency for which they both work is headed up by an organisation called KAOS
:lol: :lol:

They won't delete your account?

In other words they are holding information about you on their servers against your express wishes?

Can they do that?

I've just posted over there, I believe they are once again in breach of the DPA if they refuse to honour your account deletion request. I've never known such a bunch of cowboys...

I don't know the DPA well enough to make a judgement. All I can say is that it "seems likely" that their inaction may be a breach.

It'll be interesting to see how they react to Carl's post.

Whatever way you look at it they're behaving like complete cowboys.
