Not sure if this should go in this section.

http://www.betterdrivingplease.com/index.asp

Judging by the reports, it looks like the site went up a few days ago.

What do the site owner and members honestly expect to get out of this?

sounds awfully like "grassupyourmatesforalaugh.com" if you ask me!

There must be loads of scope for avenging minor grudges by sticking your opponent's / competitor's / disputing neighbour's / cheating ex-spouse / cheating ex-spouse's mistress' / toyboy's etc registration in there!

I wonder who decides what is acceptable and what isn't? After all, I'm lead to believe that trafpols train for quite a while before they're reckoned to be good enough at it!

Bleedin' amatuers!

Hopefully, we won't become a nation of bleating grasses!

When I posted up my Hendon notes - was of young 23 year old in training at the time. Notes are still valid and I still have them and even refer back to ethics of what I was originally taught.

Yes - we do still train up to a high level.

In my day - we would spend a morning perfecting a technique until it became "part of the automatic pysche mode" and we would get a right rollicking if we failed or failed to evaluate properly too. Not qute soe rigid these days - and perhaps sign I'm getting older when I complain "things ain't what they were in my day" - but have to say shorter course is not as "involved" as it was.. but still at high level

I was just looking through some of this stuff... I was going to report myself for speeding and see if anything actually happened... How can everyday normal people be able to know what 'dangerous driving' is... To that person they might be driving perfectly safely... Dangerous overtaking to some people could be fine to others... I've experienced this with friends in the car watching other people overtaking, and they are grabbing their seats...

And this is illegal/dangerous?

Edit: I just found that you can get more details... Perhaps on this occasion he was dangerous (ish)... But again, who is the person that reported it to say they were dangerous...

you're right there. On one of my courses the police instructor pointed out all the "overtakes" that I missed. Sure they were doable but I certainly wouldn't have felt comfortable doing them.

Some of the reports are great:

Quote:
driving like a (sic) idiot not signalling like a man possessed

How do you "not signal like a man possessed"?

And my favourite:

Quote:
Driving Very fast around resedential (sic) estate constantly. Parking on Pavement. Playing loud music late at night

Playing loud music That's an accident waiting to happen!

And if they're constantly driving, how can they park on the pavement?

Oh, and I wonder if "hornblower" ever attempts any self-analysis on why he/she winds so many fellow drivers up?

I'm half tempted to sign up and report every dawdler, half-dead sunday driver and non-indicating 4x4 I see, purely in the interests of balance!

The web site could be counter productive. Getting your number plate on there as much as possible could be seen as "cool" by youths. A kind of jackass type stunt.

It even appeals to my sense of mischief....

now either their numberplate search doesnt work.. or no one's reported me.
which is disappointing as i've been tempted to report myself on a couple of occasions!

Like this one "Submitted by: driversmatter
This vehicle was overtaking a queue of stationery traffic when it brought itself to my attention."

WOW - did it jump up and down and flash all it's lights whilst turning circles ??

Thankfully, there are significant quantity of people complaining about slow and incompetent drivers, which the intro animation makes me think is not what the site creators intended.

Hence my occasional postings there - to balance the ones that just complain someone was driving fast, without expaining how this was bad.
