Tried a search on cameras banned and u turn on here with no results , so here goes.

Article in times -http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,22749-1694858,00.html

Speed camera U-turn as 500 sites rejected.

Now at least some one up there knows how it feels to have a ban hanging over you - Stephen Ladyman, the new Road Safety Minister

The review is being overseen by Stephen Ladyman, the new Road Safety Minister, who has been caught three times by speed cameras and at one stage had nine points on his licence, one offence away from a six-month ban"

It ordered partnerships to revise their budgets because they would receive less revenue than expected from fines"

OH dear, there goes the CC's new BMW, and the likes of JJ and Steve C at Cumbria and chummie Rumble in Warks, will be keeping an eagle eye out for P45s toooo
"
"The scheme has prompted claims that partnership staff may favour cameras over other solutions because they need to ensure a steady flow of income to pay their salaries. The department is understood to be concerned that it may have exaggerated the benefits of cameras by failing to allow for the random nature of crashes."

Safe Speed members will be aware of correspondence with the gentleman.

A few new members would be very welcome. I'm sure you can all see I'm working like a dog here. Shame there's no money in the bank for essentials.

The fact is that the partnerships have to keep rolling out new sites to keep the cash rolling in. Locals soon learn where they are. The M4 sites are an example of a 'fool-proof' revenue raiser; locals learn their local sitre, but a motorway has a limitless well of potential revenue on which to draw from drivers from the whole country. These people need our money to fund their habit (salaries, pensions, etc).
