Hi, does anyone know if there are any fixed speed cameras on the M54?

Yesterday evening travelling towards Birmingham I passed a bridge between Junction 3 & Junction 2 and there appeared to be two white/silver cameras/detectors fitted to the bridge - one over each lane, in both directions.

These were not the usual blue or green sensors that you see regularly beside the road, nor were they the traditional yellow Gatso, Truvello, Specs etc.

As the road was completely clear I was going 100+ and am now really worried about receiving a summons.

Are these a new breed of speed camera or hopefully something more friendly?

Any advice gratefully received.

It sounds like they where ANPR devices and not speed cameras.

Not as far as I'm aware mate. I live in Telford and travel to J3 every day, and to J2 quite often. I think you saw those traffic flow or ANPR cameras.

Be careful though, the SCP do sometimes place their van atop the bridge on the roundabout at J3.

I would suggest that they were actually speed sensors of the kind that produce the national congestion data for Trafficmaster.
