Safe Speed Needs You !

STOP!
  • You drive. Right?
  • Speed cameras make you worry when you're driving. Right?
  • But the government tells you that they save lives. So you grumble rather than fight. Right?
  • We're here to tell you that your instincts are correct. The government is wrong. Very wrong. Speed cameras don't save lives at all. They make the roads more dangerous.
  • Speed cameras have changed the way you drive. You have less time for the road ahead. More worry. More stress. That's bad. It's actually increased your crash risk. And maybe you have already lost your licence and your job.
  • Safe Speed has analysed the effects of speed cameras on drivers and road safety.
  • You already know deep down inside that they don't help you to drive safely. They don't help you not to crash.
  • And what's happening to road deaths? They're not falling as expected. We're now 1,200 lives per year behind schedule. That's a lot of dead people. A lot of people who have died because road safety policy isn't good enough.
  • The Safe Speed campaign is fighting back. We're fighting with facts and analysis. We're fighting in the media. We're feeding information into research and to politicians. We're fighting to restore real road safety policies and to save lives. And we're fighting to take the pressure off you.
  • But we need your help. Memberships come from £4 per month or £45 per year - less than the cost of a single tank of fuel.
  • It takes very hard work and resources to fight this fight. We're your best chance for fighting back.
  • Please support the campaign. We need you and you need us. Join today.
Subscriptions and Donations

We've not made memberships "cheap", but that's because the more money we've got the more we can do to make a real difference.

If you feel you can't afford a membership, but would nevertheless like to show your support, please consider making a donation. If £5 is all you can afford, we won't mind or think any less of you, and every £5 makes a difference. On the other hand, a larger payment will inevitably make more difference. So you do what you can, and we promise we'll do everything we can.

  • Visible forum 'badge'
  • Access to "Special Projects" forum area
  • A nice warm feeling of actually doing something (don't just suffer in silence!)
  • You will be helping us to make a real difference - no one in the UK is doing more for the cause.
  • NEW - NOW you will receive a 10% reduction if you use Mary Manson Solicitors - You MUST tell them that you are a Safe Speed Member .

New benefits to be added as resources become available ...
SafeSpeed is non-profit making, so all the money you donate goes straight into helping the cause, which is to try to help make the roads safer.
We know we're not offering a great deal back to you, in return for your membership - but ask yourself this:
Would you rather we spent time and resources campaigning effectively or handing out benefits to our members? The ultimate payback for each and every member will be better road safety policy.
We've gone a very long way since we started in 2003, and the authorities are losing the argument at every turn.
