Somebody just handed me the latest Dorking Advertiser containing the following article. I expect it's repeated in all Surrey local newspapers:

Safety Group Hopes to Halt Traffic Deaths

A SAFETY group aimed at reducing deaths on Surrey's roads is to be formed provided the Government gives it the go-ahead.
The Safety Camera Partnership would involve Surrey County Council, Surrey Police, Surrey Magistrates' Courts and the Highways Agency.
Safety cameras have been used across the country since 1995. Over a 3-year period, sites have achieved a 23 % reduction in collisions and have almost halved the number of collisions at sites where someone was killed or seriously injured (48% reduction).
Duncan Knox, who heads the Safety Camera Partnership in Surrey, said "The introduction of a safety camera partnership in the county would provide significant benefits to our residents and users of Surrey's roads."
"We know that safety cameras are working to reduce the number of road traffic collisions at identified collision sites and that a camera partnership dedicated to reducing casualties would be a positive step for Surrey." END.

I furious at this; Paul, do you have a standard reply that you can send to the paper? (editor@dorkingadvertiser.co.uk). I don't have the contact details for others mentioned in the article, not that I suppose they would listen.

There's no standard reply, but feel free to crib from:

Or elsewhere on the web site.
