I wish that anyone who says people are not influenced by what they see on TV, could have seen my son after he watched an episode of the "Power Rangers", and started ficking out kung-foo style at all and sundry! He had NO concept of the result of being kicked in this fashion!!
And it's NOT only children who are affected in this manner!
I used to love roadrunner myself, but never found the need to throw my sister off a cliff, drop an anvil on her head or blow her up with acme dynamite. although I was taught disapline from a young age.
You have hit the nail on the head - without realising it.
The difference is in the way the violence is presented. In the cartoon, the link with reality is at best tenuous, but in live action film, it is all too real.
We live in an age of special effects, and ZAP culture, in which everyone wants fulfilment at the press of a button.
The result is we (as a society) rather lazily believe most of what we see on TV, because we cannot be bothered to investigate and think for ourselves.

Present company excepted, otherwise you wouldnt be here having this discussion!!
