No - and my mobile connection is barely suitable - what did he say?

I didn’t make any notes, but as you might expect he was fairly dismissive.

I will try to make you a recording, using the free version of Cool Edit 96 you recommended, but I have not yet been able to connect this internally, so have to do it via the speaker and microphone, so limited to poor quality.

If you, or someone, could tell me how achieve the internal connection, then that would be appreciated.

I have tried “All Sound Recorder”, which works well, but the free version only allows a few minutes of recording and at present I can’t justify the $30 for that.

Can anyone recommend a good free, or cheap, sound recording programme for the computer to record from internet radio.

I did manage to grab it on a good 3g connection.

You need to use the hidden 'input select' facility to record 'internally'.

- click the tray icon to get the audio mixer.
- pull down 'options' and select 'properties'
- hit the radio button for 'recording'. Click OK.
- a different mixer appears and you can 'select source'
- choices vary with sound cards, but a good bet is 'stereo mixer'

Recorded the SCP part, but quality not very good, but it is inteligible.

WAV file is about 1.6Mb, so unless you need it now, will wait till you are back on broad band before sending it to you.

Tried to record your part, but couldn't save it, so would have to try again if you wanted that.

I have looked at your instructions and I think I must have a different version of Cool Edit, since I could not make sense of the instructions, but perhaps it is just me.

Not part of cool edit - part of windows.

It's one of those icons down on the lower right corner of the screen near the clock in an area called the 'system tray'.
