That's an easy one - speed cameras on the pavements will lead to an immediate 30% reduction in KSIs due to these monstrosities. A useful side effect would be to catch pedestrians running on the pavement causing mayhem. Once we all have our ID numbers tattood on our foreheads and arses automated FPNs can be implemented thus restoring society to a thug free zone..

My wife had a moronic old scroat reverse over her foot in one the other day. The old woman did not look but just used the thing to barge through people.

Worse still the local shop is starting to use them. At least you stand a chance at getting compensation for an accident though if it is in a shop.

I did read recently that there were 9 fatalities per year involving these things.

Part of the problem with these things is that most of them are extraordinarily hard to controll.

Many do not have "Proportional Controll" The motor switch is either "On" or "Off", (Forward or reverse). If you are lucky you may get "Fast" and "Slow"

This isnt too much of a problem on the open road (as it were) but makes manouvering safely in confined and/or congested areas very tricky! :(

I've nearly been run over by quite a few of these... And because I'm young, it's MY fault... Oh yes... I'd be safer walking down the road...

it's been a poxy day here in essex, wet and dark and horrible, lousy weather for driving. Driving down an unclassified road I came across one of those leccy buggies, she was well lit though. Theres an old boy in the village with one and he's lethal even when it's clear.

I'd rather they were in an electric buggy than driving a car like the ninety-year-old doofus I saw yesterday. On the road from Marks Tey to Stanway, I 'collected' him at the end of a 30mph zone on a blind-brow hill. He was doing 22mph and was right on the white line. The road after this becomes 40mph, but with a median cross-hatch - he rose to the dizzy heights of 25mph. At the first roundabout, he just drove straight over, causing a Frontera to do an emergency stop and at the next, he took the left lane, indicated left and drove all the way round the perimeter to take the 4th exit for Sainbury's, causing several other cars to brake hard.
I left on the third exit wondering how any speed camera could make the road safer by highlighting pathetic driving such as this...
