I have stated that PCSOs can arrest as can you Andy under Common Law Sec 3 Criminal Law Act 1967. Oh yes you are right my 5 year old daughter can do that ..Common Law.. are PCSOs advised to do this..I think well NOT

They couldnt act as a Constable.. they would have too...well be themselves once people see people gettmg arrested by PCSOs ..then that is different...
My understanding is they only use the powers... that you and me all have ..well if they are dealing with a MURDER !!..
They are told NOT to arrest !!!!!
Not that daft am I ????????????/
Common law powers of arrest are for every citizen, regardless of there job, a PCSO has this power, it cannot be taken away from them, not even by there Chief Constable.
Murder?? Where do you get this stuff, “my understanding” have you ever been a PCSO, or a Chief Constable, secretary of State, home office minister??
How do you come up with this stuff.
I can’t go on correcting your misunderstandings all morning, I have work at 8.
Andy, as I have said a thousand times before, you want to complain to the government, they make and amend the Legislation in place, we (the Police Force employees) uphold the laws that are in place, be it armed robbery, murder, rape and yes speeding.
You have a grievance with the government, not Police Officers.
Vent your anger on the 10 downing street website.
You say you would leave a Police Officer lying in the gutter dying, that’s the difference between me and you, I would do everything I could to save you and uphold justice for you, both in and out of uniform, regardless of liking you.
Good morning.
